
Gene W. Wilkes, Jr., 61, of Darnestown, MD, passed away on March 21, 2025.
He was the loving husband to Laura Wilkes.
Born on February 19, 1964 in Washington, D.C., he was the son to Gene Wilson Sr. and Eula Carolene (Asbury) Wilkes.
Gene was so full of life and loved life itself. He loved to cook for family and friends whenever there was an opportunity. He was dedicated to the church where he served on the Church Council. His greatest life accomplishment was being a father and raising his two children, Trey and Ashlee, whom he loved dearly and would do anything for. Finally, he loved riding his motorcycle with Laura on the back, getting some wind therapy and experiencing new adventures along the way.
Along with his wife and parents; Gene was survived by his children; Trey Wilkes (Hannah), Ashlee Wilkes Adams (Curtis); one sister; Lisa Wilkes Badstibner (Rob) and one grandson; Weston George Wilkes.
He was preceded in death by one brother; Kevin Wayne Wilkes.
The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, March 27th, from 6:00-8:00pm at Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road, Barnesville, MD. The church service will be held on Friday, March 28th, at 11:00am at Germantown Baptist Church, 17640 Riffle Ford Rd, Germantown, MD 20874. Interment to follow in church cemetery.
